Side-events Tunis:
- A new revised version of the list of side events requests for Tunis,
dated 25 July 2005, is now posted one the WSIS-ITU web site
(www.itu.int/wsis/documents/doc_multi.asp?lang=en
&id=1656|0), taking into account some corrections. Final This
is not the list of selected side-events yet. They cuts received very
few initiatives to merge side events.

- The ES will probably suggest the reduction of requested time-slots
for side events, mainly for requests exceeding 2 hours; this would

Accreditation

Side Vents PrepCom 3
The WSIS ES asked CONGO to help coordinate the CS room
requests for PrepCom-3 side-events. Further information will Be made
available soon.
In addition, note that Room XXII (Palate of the Nations), equipped
with WiFi, will Be provided to CS events during all PrepCom-3.
Orientation Session
Year orientation session will Be organised one Sunday 18
September. We just got the confirmation that Room B gold C At the ITU

Fellowships
The WSIS ES does not cuts any definitive information one
available funding for PrepCom-3 Fellowship. They are still in contact
with various potential donors. At this training course, existing
funding could allow 10 fellowships, which is totally unsatisfactory.
In any event, priority would Be given to applicants satisfying
existing criteria. Selection conditions could Be more flexible yew
more funding for fellowships would Be made available. Deadline for
fellowships application is 5 August 2005.

still waiting for year answer from the Tunisian authorities to the

Exhibition centers will probably compel organisers to find more

Please find below information relating to the meeting that the
Secretariat of the BSC held with the Executive Secretariat of the
SMSI.
Parallel events for Tunis
- a new corrected version of the list of the parallel requests
for events for Tunis, July 25, 2005, was placed on the Web site of the
SMSI-UIT (www.itu.int/wsis/documents/doc_multi.asp?lang=en
&id=1656|0) by taking into account certain corrections. It will
not be the final list of the accepted requests. Very few initiatives
to combine the requests were received.
- the requests carried out by very broad networks and the entities
having shown an interest throughout process of the SMSI will be
treated in priority.
- the Executive Secretariat will probably propose to reduce the time
crenels requested for the parallel events, in particular the requests
exceeding 2 hours. This will help to increase the number of crenels
available.
- the Executive Secretariat does not know yet the final number of
rooms which will be available for the parallel events. As well the
number of rooms available and as parallel events will be announced
around August 15.
Accreditation
150 new organizations required an accreditation hitherto. We
point out that the date limits to provide the requests for
accreditation is fixed at August 8

Parallel events for PrepCom-3
The Executive Secretariat of the SMSI asked CONGO to help with
the coordination of the requests for rooms for the Civil Company for
the parallel events of PrepCom-3. We will send additional information
soon on this subject.
In addition, note that Room XXII (Palate of the Nations), equipped
with WiFi, will be entrusted to the Civil Company during all
PrepCom-3.
Session of Orientation
A session of orientation will be organized Sunday September
18. We have just obtained the confirmation that the Room B or C of the
UIT will be placed at the disposal within this framework. We will
provide you soon a provisional program.
Stock Exchanges
The Executive Secretariat of the SMSI does not have final
information yet on the purses for PrepCom-3. They remain in contact
with several potential donors. This stage, the financings existing
will allow 10 purses, which remains very insufficient. In this case,
priority will be given to the candidates satisfying the existing
criteria. The criteria could however be made more flexible if the
financings for purses for the SC are increased. The limiting date for
a request for purse remains established at August 5.

With regard to the Tunisian financings for the purses for
Tunis, we still await a response of the Tunisian authorities to the
letter that Renate sent to the beginning of this month.
Space available
The limited number of large rooms of conferences available to
the center of exposure of the KRAM will probably push the organizers
to find solutions more flexible. Thus, it will be practically
impossible to allot a large room in a completely permanent way for the
civil company
during the Summit. However, the Executive Secretariat of the SMSI is
considering the possibility for the civil company of using the Room of
the Plenary Committee (600 places, interpreter's booths), which will
not be often used by the governmental meetings during the Summit. More
information will be available on this point after a meeting between
the Executive Secretariat of the SMSI and the Tunisian organizers
which will take place August the 4 and 5.
The rooms reserved for the official Round Tables and the high level
Debate could moreover be also used for nonofficial round tables and
parallel events.
The Office of the Civil Company required that the Offices for the
Civil Company be located near those of the Executive Secretariat of
the SMSI for more interactions and a better exchange of information.
