thanks for posting (and re-writing!) this article..

i find it very useful to approach discussions about the 'multi-stakeholder'
approach in this way.. looking at the different roles and responsibilities,
pros/cons, dangers/benefits etc..

glad to see the mention also of the role of CS as watchdog, monitor, and
keeping governments and PS accountable.. this was one of the elements we
included in the roles and responsibilies of CS in internet governance, in
the WGIG report.

and good to see the emphasis on media's role - i heard the GIPI coordinator
from vietnam tell a similar story in the internet governance meetings in
geneva earlier this week, how important local media is in awareness raising
about ICTs and the ict policy process etc.. did you find they were
genuninely interested in the development perspective? (this op-ed obvisouly
reflects that) - or are they in the main largely reflecting status quo
positions/increasing distribution - or a combination of all three ;)
