The ITU is pleased to announce its 2006 Young Minds in Telecoms competition.

Background:
The <http://www.itu.int/osg/spu/index.phtml> ITU Strategy and Policy Unit
(SPU) launched its first essay-writing competition under the "Young Minds in
Telecoms" Programme in November 2004. The main site for the
<http://www.itu.int/osg/spu/youngminds/index2005.html> 2005 Young Minds in
Telecoms competition includes the winning essays and information on the 2005
ITU Young Minds in Telecoms finalists Raushan Sagalbayeva from Almaty,
Kazakhstan and Svetlana Skvortsova from Moscow, Russian Federation.
Conditions for participating in the 2006 ITU Young Minds in Telecoms:
The 2006 ITU Young Minds in Telecoms competition is open to current students
and recent graduates in economics, political science, law, literature,
computer science, information systems or a related field.
If you are selected:
Selected applicants will have their work posted on the ITU Strategy and
Policy Unit website and/or cited in an ITU publication. One or two selected
applicants will in addition be offered the opportunity of a short-term
research contract in the Strategy and Policy Unit for three months during
the spring or summer of 2006 and a contribution to the cost of an economy
class flight from their current place of residence, plus CHF 10'000 towards
living expenses while in Geneva.
