hi,

Yesterday i was talking over dinner to some social scientist involved
in development - mostly from the theoretical point of view.

i started talking about the percentage people on the have-not side of
the digital divide, and the other statistic about the number who are
not within a 2 hour walk of a telephone (though i am not sure how
wireless technology affect that).

being bad at remembering numbers i said the first was about 3/4 and
the second about 2/3. i have been asked to back up my estimates, but
i don't know where to find the authoritative quotable percentages.

can anyone give me a clue?

thanks
a.
