* Angola Press Agency * (Luanda) CURRENT EVENTS January 28,
2006 Publié on the Web on January 30, 2006 Luanda the Angolan
Government intends to invest in the next years, close 96 million
dollars for the implementation of the Action plan for the company of
information, affirmed Friday, in Luanda, the coordinator of the
national Commission of Technologies of information, Pedro Teta.
Intervening during a Pedro Teta, press conference, also
vice-minister of Science and Technology, declared that this amount
will be financed by the Angolan executive and the International
Community. According to him, this plan was accepted by the World Bank
which already expressed, through a letter sent to Angola, its
provision to finance it. It, in addition, said that this estimate is
very low if one compares with the other countries of the world, like
Mozambique and South Africa which mobilized in 2005 nearly 184 million
dollars for its action plan, Portugal, 358 million USD, 280
million USD for a four years project. The Action plan of the
Company of information, it continued, will have to constitute the base
of all the policies of the country in this field and will also be
useful like reference for the process of planning strategic and
development and application of the budgets of State in the field of
Technologies of information and communication (Tics). In addition to
the 96 million dollars, Pedro Teta affirmed that the authorities
of the country will resolve also 70 million dollars for the Action
plan of the electronic government, an official document being used as
guide of the policies of Tics. The electronic government in Angola,
according to this study, aims five strategic priorities - the
technological equipment of the public organizations, the improvement
of these services, the modernization of the model of management, the
training of the civils servant and the participation and the
engagement of the citizen.
