Civil African Society of the Information Society (ACSIS)
   
  PRESS RELEASE In margin of work of the 2nd Phase of the World
Summit on the Company del' Information (SMSI), organized by the United
Nations in Tunis from the 13 to November 18, 2005 in PalExpo, Kram,
the African Civil Company held a General meeting Constitutive for the
adoption of the status and the election of the members of the Cabinet
of African Civil Society of the Information Society (ACSIS). This
Parliament took place itself in the room A, Pavillon of the Civiel
Company, with in the chair Mr. Bappa Gaston GAVE and the Secretariat
was ensured by Mrs. BALLED MOUDOUMBOU Marianne. After amendments and
adoption of the statutes of ACSIS, the Parliament proceeded to the
election of Coordinnateurs sous-régionaux (CSR), of the Treasurer,
the Vice-president and the President of ACSIS. The elections proceeded
in a climate of perfect serenity and transparency and in the most
strict compliance with the democratic rules. The results of the
elections of the Cabinet arise in the following way:
   
  • President: Mrs. Delphine Nana MEKOUNTE (CEFEPROD/ECOSOC, Cameroun) •
Vice-president: Mr. Maluza Martin (CIRAC, Diaspora) • Treasurer: Mr.
Traoré Wodjo (CUA, Côte.d'ivoire) • North Africa Coordinator: Mrs.
Faïza AZOUZ (emigrated Women and families, Tunisia) • East Africa
Coordinator: Mr. Léopold N. • Central Africa Coordinator: Mr. Schombe
Baudouin (CAFEC, DRC) • West Africa Coordinator: Mr. Boubacar
55 Barry (ENTIS, Guinea) • Coordinator Diaspora: Mr. Pape Diouf
(North-South ÉTIC, Switzerland)
   
  The Constitutive Parliament gave mandate to the Cabinet to
proceed as soon as possible to the election of the CSR of the Southern
Africa. This new Office was officially installed by the Chairman, Mr.
Bappa Gaston GAVE, during the solemn ceremony, in the presence of the
press, in room A of the House of the Civil Company of PalExpo in Kram.
In the name of all the African Company, the Chairman presented his
congratulations and his wishes of success at the new brains trust of
ACSIS which has the heavy responsibility to chair the destinies of
this important continental Organisation and to take up the many
challenges related to the installation of a company of open and
inclusive information, the report/ratio detailed on the course of
these elections will be put on line as soon as possible.
